"During
my younger years as a law enforcement officer and secret service trained
dignitary protector, I had the pleasure of being assigned to many entertainers
in Memphis. The list included the likes of Danny Thomas, Sammy Davis,
Wayne Newton, Charlie Rich and of course, Elvis. Not only did I have
the opportunity to escort and protect him, but to spend some time at
the Mansion and talk to him one on one. Never has anyone equaled the
ability to capture and virtually hypnotize the audience like Elvis.
That is...not until now!
As a board of directors member of Apollo International, I recently had
the occasion to book and produce the entertainment at our annual dealers
meeting at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. I
decided on Memories Of Elvis
featuring Danny Spinosa. I have never seen anything like this since
the time of the King. It was even a little uncanny having known the
real Elvis. You really felt the emotion and energy from the performance—just
as though it was really he.
I
once heard Elvis say, of probably the only person doing an impersonation
of him at the time, "that really looks like me up there."
I can't help but think that if Elvis were alive today, he would have
the same words to say of the performance by Danny Spinosa.
